  1. Lupinssupins says:

The strip's title brings to mind the classic "Starman," when he insists he's observed enough to be able to drive: "Red means stop; green means go; yellow means go very fast"!

  2. marie says:

I like how Lamont's peripheral vision suddenly notes the cops sitting there.

  3. Uthor says:

    Heh, excellent.

  4. tim Jackson says:

I love the way the story is told without lots of words. Let the images do the talking!

  5. bishop says:

@Don: I agree with BOTH of your posts. 🙂

  6. Dan says:

    Awesome cop.

  7. John says:

IS landing in the crosswalk "safe?"
    I'd call it a tazeable offense…

    • Don says:

Apparently the copy thinks it's "safe" because he's stopped in the crosswalk, too. I see a lot of people who have no idea where they are supposed to stop at an intersection–it's one of my pet peeves.

      • Don says:

And another pet peeve is software that "helps" me type, turning "cop" into "copy" in the previous post 🙂

      • Lupinssupins says:

@Don: Agree, but this one, w/ BOTH cops' faces, is of my all-time favorites! In retrospect, now, the "umpire cop," in looks & gag, reminds me of Bradley Whitford's great new character, Dan Stark, in The Good Guys. You'll be happy to know that, at least in one tiny, speed trap-dependent muni in my area, I was once ticketed for stopping (full stop, no roll) too far into an intersection of side streets (w/ no painted crosswalks, btw), even tho I was hewing painstakingly to just BELOW the painful, posted speed limit of 20 mph, w/ nary another car, nor bike, scooter nor a pedestrian in sight!
All in my family have had considerable experience as carless pedestrians at various times thru the yrs, so we share your pet peeve (along w/ walk light systems that force us to share the micro-second green light w/ the other street's turn arrow.) My brothers harbor a longtime fantasy of walking THROUGH the back seat of drivers who stop IN our crosswalk!
