THIS cartoon COULD be as important to the changing of values as was “All in the Family”. Before “All in the Family” aired, there were VERY FEW Black actors in positive roles. That TV show let people laugh at their own idiotic feelings because the main character actually SAID OUT LOUD what people could THINK privately. It made what was secret, open. By opening up the subject of non-rational discrimination and bigotry in a comic form, people were able to accept CHANGE much more easily! Because of the positive effects, I think it is positively ATROCIOUS when any newspaper pulls a cartoon out of fear of the possible effective change in society. Bravo, Darrin. I only wish the MEDIA could get the WHOLE SERIES you are doing about “The Proposition”.
