I saw a film version of Genet's play "Deathwatch" that Nimoy did in the mid-'60s. He was amazing.

  2. WWMD says:

What mainstream media are you watching, Mr. Bell? All I ever see/ hear is the Kardashians, Toddlers and Tiaras, and Snookie news. Oh, and that whole Mexico is a dangerous place to visit thing. All I couldn't care less about (except for the Mexico issue…I may have some interest in that).

    • Macushla Bubba says:

WWMD- Same question. Are you watching Entertainment Tonight, Extra, Access Hollywood, TMZ? I can't recall seeing Brian Williams, Scott Pelley, Katie Couric ever mention the Kardashians, T & T or Snookie. Can't vouch for Diane Sawyer, tho; don't watch ABC.

What I HAVEN'T seen CBS or NBC News cover before today was the Occupy Wall Street movement. It's as if they were treating the right to peaceably assemble like the local news who don't report on suicides or bomb threats, on the theory it only encourages more of the same.

    • ChayaFradle says:

Leonard Nimoy is in the news! http://news.yahoo.com/spock-attends-last-star-tre

      • MisTeryWriter says:

We will all miss Nimoy. He is 80 y.o., however, and deserves to retire.

        • SuLu says:

Yes, and as he once tried to protest, he is not Spock. And, even while keeping it real, in terms of allowing himself to look his age, he's handsomer than his age-mate, Bill Shatner. No offense to Bill, tho, whose work in Boston Legal was genius! [esp. the sneaky refs to ST– like the communicator beep Denny Crane's cell ringtone, to his startling awale when a witness spoke of something that would "Cling on" something: "Did he say Klingon?!"

  3. Jim says:

Perfectly nailed why I don't listen to the mainstream media. They only talk about important matters once in a blue moon.

(PS: if you want serious news coverage, look to Reason magazine).
