It’s “Democratic Party,” not “Democrat Party.”

Chris Matthews has been increasingly willing to call Republican politicians out on their childish attempt to rename the opposition party. I take credit for this. I didn’t hear a single Media personality even mention this pathetic trend until my 2007 cartoon on the topic ran in the Washington Post (& everywhere else). Oh, and some other obscure comic called “Doonesbury” (you’ve probably never heard of it) may have also run a similar cartoon on the very same day as mine.

With such a peaceful man as our president, it amazes me that people on the other side of the political spectrum would sell America’s strength and future down the tubes just so they might have a chance on “winning” the political game of innuendo, gossip spreading, news slanting, volatile rhetoric, and evil motivations to win at all costs- even at the costs of American well being. I don’t envy Obama with enemies such as Rush Limbaugh and the majority of the Republican party doing everything in their power to try to undermine and prevent Obama from helping the people.

  2. Elliot says:

The way Rush Limbaugh says it, it’s democRAT party. Among other insults. He even is calling Republican “footsoldiers” in the “war” of Republicans vs Democratic party to PRAY and HOPE Obama is NOT SUCCESSFUL in strengthening the American economy. What a sore loser!

Actually I remember Al Franken mentioning this on his Air America show back in ’06 or ’05. Not exactly mainstream, true. Glad to hear Matthews is picking up on it.

Isn’t Doonesbury that Bloom County knockoff? I think this Trudeau guy is just a Berke Breathed wannabe.
Either way, you can’t blame Trudeau for following the new leader in the comic field.
