    "Lays"?!? I think he means "lies." Isn't Lemont the guy who criticizes bad grammar on a regular basis?

    Going back to Lemont trying to give his melancholy to Goodwill. Poor Lemont. His psychiatrist would say to volunteer to help others to get out of his pity party, if the cartoon doctor really had his PhD. BTW, "Independence Day" wording in the song is appropriate because it's almost July 4th. But, can Lemont declare independence from his own psyche? In the words of a patron of the barber shop in "Coming to America", A-HAH! A-HAH!
