"Thank God for Culture Clash", I just saw that in this strip printed in teh L.A. Times and about choked with laughter.
My girl and I just saw their play, "Peace" a few nights ago and it was off the hook.

Darrin, you must've been sittin' right behind us. (metaphorically)

I have to confess, it's not about Culture Clash. "Thank God for Culture Clash" is the title of the first Candorville book.

Not so funny story: I've been to two Culture Clash shows and I missed both of them. The first time was when I lived in Berkeley. They were performing just three blocks from my apartment. I was sick. I had a pretty bad cold. I didn't want to be the guy coughing and hacking all through somebody's live show, so just before I went into the theater, I took a double dose of Nyquil. Five minutes into the show, I fell asleep and didn't wake up until people stood to leave. Well that's not exactly true; about halfway through I awoke to see a naked man walking across the stage. I chuckled and fell back to sleep.

Then I had another chance to see them. This time, the show was pretty far away. Maybe three hours away or so. Traffic was deadly that evening. Nothing more than a crawl almost the whole way, and the only station that came in clearly played slow jazz. When I finally got there, I walked in, sat down, and about ten minutes later I was sound asleep. I'm pretty sure I snored. I woke up just in time to be totally confused by the ending of their show.

Some people would give up after that, and so far I've been one of those people. But that won't last. I know I'll try again. Only next time I'll be proactive about it and show up in pajamas.

Although this is only a comic, I actually know and converse with people of that weirdo's irk. Don't you wish you can actually cut open a person's brain and put kindness and logic into it, and then sew it back up?
