    Of course, you can't really *see* how much better that *sounds*, can you? Shouldn't Lemont say, "Hear how much better that sounds?" if he's going to be so picky about how others use language.

      Generally, your correction would be apt. However, we're reading the revised sentence, not hearing it, and Mr. Bell's been known to play with the fourth wall a bit in his work, so I think, within that context, the use of "see" rather than "hear" passes.

    Lemont made a miracle recovery from the flu? Now he's back to his literal stance on idioms. Very funny and great art. But, somewhat dangerous habit he has. It can not only get him slapped, but also hurt very much worse these days…particularly if he lived in Los Angeles. But then, he lives in Candorville, so he can pretty much say what he wants. Right?
