You two are making me feel less alone. Thank you. DS9's been my favorite of the Star Trek iterations since its first season.
My friends and family scoff every time I say this, but Sisko was the best of all of the captains*, for he was the most bad-ass, AND he was a fabulous cook and loved baseball. He was just mountains of awesome covered in awesomesauce, in my very humble opinion.
*Okay, so he was initially Commander Sisko, but you know what I mean.
Oh, Susan, you DO spend too much time with Lemont.
And Dick Fink is no Kai Winn, that's for sure.
Btw, even _I_ had to look up 'apotropaic;, and I'm at least the second geekiest person I know.
DS9 was the best Star Trek.
Without a doubt. One day when I go bald, I'm going to grow a goatee and dress like Sisko every day.

Don't forget he was the best father since Cosby.
Better! He was a single dad, so he had to pull more weight (TV!Mrs. Cosby was, as I recall, a formidable woman).
He's definately more of a Quark type then Kai Winn.
