  1. Macushla says:

Chaya, Lemont IS thinking of those definitions. He's saying that the kid doesn't know the figurative meaning. The little kid is taking it literally & thinks it means they get to go riding a choo-choo, hence the train engineer outfits.

    • ChayaFradle says:

Oh, now I am totally chuckling. Thanks, Macushla. I have forgotten how to think like a child. Tsk, tsk on me. Yes, both my kids when young took EVERYTHING literally. In fact, once I said, "Please take the dishes off the table" and my child took ONLY the dishes off the table." When I said, "Please pull up a chair for Mommy", he came to me holding the chair in the air and asked what to do with it. So, yes, you are right! I didn't even catch the train hats at first. I didn't know there were engineer hats. But, now that I think about it, I do remember reading children's books to my kids where there were engineer hats shown. Hmmm. Memories, memories.

  2. ChayaFradle says:

What would Lemont think "railroaded" means? The dictionary says:
    1. vt force something through quickly without discussion: to push something through a legislature, committee, or other decision-making body quickly so that there is not enough time for objections to be considered (informal)
    2. vt force somebody to act hastily: to force a person or group to make a decision or take action quickly, without time for consideration or discussion (informal)
    3. vt convict somebody too quickly: to convict somebody on the basis of flimsy or false evidence (informal) So, what would Lemont think that would be different from what the little kid said?

  3. ChayaFradle says:

I'd like to meet this kid's mommy. She sounds awesome!

  4. Mellaril says:

If Lemont has any access to the kid, he still may be able get a sample. It would cost some money and it may not be admissable in court but he'd know. Heck, the police can get DNA from a cigarette butt. Lemont chould pay Clyde $20 to boost the kid's pacifier or sippy cup. Distract mom and grab a few hairs out of the diaper bag. If you can get a DNA from a stool sample, grab a diaper from the trash.

Some things are just too important to be left to chance.
