    I do like these double standard strips, though. You know, despite the fact they’re painfully true.

      I'll cut Darrin some slack for using vernacular rather than standard English. Susan and Lemont are speaking informally, after all.

      Also, sometimes it's appropriate to ratchet down formality as a way of adding emphasis. I think that's what is happening here.
