  1. Classic Steve says:

He's done this with at least one other overplayed story. Cheap strip formula.

    • Darrin Bell says:

…also known as a "running gag."

    • Casey Weiner says:

Not just a formula, exact same strip from one month back, but with two words changed and different coloring. (Does Bell color them himself? I don't know.) He didn't even change the name of the book Lamont is reading.

I think this is done on purpose as "the running gag", as Darrin said. The media continues to POUNCE on one particular piece of news to the point of our having to barf when we hear that piece of news being repeated. So, yes, the strip would be the same, as would the coloring, and only the subject matter would change. That was the point of the strip, I believe. On a personal level, however, I am VERY interested in this particular story. It sickens me that her lawyers are now requesting special guards and housing for her because her life may be at stake. SO the hell WHAT !!!!! We taxpayers should pay for a person who is 99% probably guilty but got off on a technicality to have housing and body guards when WE, OURSELVES, have to work our fingers to the bone to have a roof over our heads? UNBELIEVABLE nerve!!!!

      • Darrin Bell says:

Dude… I've employed this running gag for seven years, over a dozen times. Nothing whatsoever changes except for the name/war/scandal the Media decides to plug in to their hype machine. That's the entire point.

    • Slipstick says:

Says something about the status of mainstream media, doesn't it. There's how much going on in the world or even just in this nation that is more important, yet they keep beating us over the head with the sensationalism.

  2. Slipstick says:

Thank you, Mr. Bell for saying on a mass level what many of us have already been saying and feeling.
