You don't have enough courage to just say what are the points? We have to listen to that drivel? This guy needs Toastmasters help badly. He doesn't even know how to begin a speech. It took 2 1/2 min. until he even began. It's now about 3 1/2 min and he still isn't making his first point. He's just filibustering. I don't have time to listen to that dribble. Ok, he's just saying the same old same old rhetoric. His main point seems to be that one day we'll have another president. If you see something else in the video, then say so. This guy is obnoxious!!!!!!!!! My opinion? Yes, he IS racist, particularly when he says he is not. The guy just wants there to be NO government. He reminds me of an old fashioned preacher who uses emotional rhetoric but says nothing of substance. When he repeats "Oh, you love Obama. Great. Go and love Obama. You love Obama? Ya. Great. Love Obama. Good for you." Anyone with a brain knows that he means the opposite.
You're accusing Penn, a man far smarter than you, of being racist and anarchist? F**k you, Chaya.
No offense, but Penn's a comedian first and foremost. I'll take his political insight with the same grain-of-salt that comes with an opinion from anyone who's not a poli-sci professional.
Second of all, nobody has to call him racist or anarchist or anything. He's a Libertarian. That's bad enough.
Uh, Jim… I don't agree with Chaya that Penn is racist [at least in this video & another of his vids defending the Tea Party against racism charges; I don't know the man personally, nor follow his pompous vlog, so I don't know whether he ever is or has been racist, thus I won't call him one.] Even tho I disagree with Penn's views ABOUT what or who is racist, I don't see evidence that HE is racist. So, I'm disagreeing with Chaya, even tho I also disagree with the guy she's criticizing. The transitive property doesn't nec. work in political criticism & one of Penn's points w/ which I DO agree is that one can defend the RIGHTS of someone w/o sharing that someone's views or flaws [tho if anyone could ever forfeit their 1st Amendment rights, it'd be the Westboro Church he defends.]
That said [admittedly in quite a rambling way, something else I might share w/ the windy Mr. Jillette]… Chaya is expressing her views about a public figure & his publicly vlogged political views, and she is doing so in a forum that [Sorry, Darrin] Penn probably won't see to be personally offended by. You, on the other hand, just cursed out a private citizen in very crude terms– not just what she said, but the woman herself (I don't know her, btw, and I, too, have disagreed with her openly on this forum.) Now Penn seems to do the same as you, w/o even your "**" disguise, quite often in his vlog, from a cursory skim of them– but as he says, it's his blog, so he'll do whatever the bleep he wants on it. In contrast, this is not your blog. So there is no call for that level of (c)rudeness, Jim and I'm afraid I've reported your comment. Sorry, again, Darrin, if WordPress might censor others your own comment thread. But, Jim, WordPress is a private entity, not the big, bad govt. you & Penn dislike, So, in the spirit of libertarianism, they can censor whomever they please. Or not, if they disagree with my report. If they do disagree, and they let your post stand , I'm guessing neither they nor I will curse the other out.
I agree with you, Macushla. There is no justifiable reason for using curse words against a private citizen who happens to disagree with a public figure. In fact, those type of curse words express a lack of intelligence. People who are educated and have a wide range of vocabulary words and phrases do not need to resort to this type of cursing. This person must lack a college education. To Chaya: Ignore him. He is just broadcasting his own lack of ability to express himself. In fact, he never did answer any of your questions. Could it be that he is not ABLE to do so? I am surprised, however, that Word Press didn't censor that blog.

Penn is not smarter than I am, or as I was before my stroke. You don't know me, so that was an absurd comment. He may be RICHER than I am, but so what?
I don't like seeing this type of thing here. Even if Chaya weren't a long-time reader of mine (one with whom I disagree on a lot of matters), I don't want to see this space degenerate into the kind of stuff we see way too often on the Internet. That breeds an unwelcoming atmosphere. Let's try not to be rude to our fellow commenters.
Okay, I apologize. I just got pissed off seeing her cry "racism" simply because someone is critical of Obama. For the record, Penn Jillette was as critical of Bush as he is of Obama.
Accepted. I would welcome Penn into my Toastmaster club, where all opinions are treated the same. We teach how to have a good opening, body and close to speaking. He would be dinged about 25 cents for each "ahhh" or pregnant pause until he learns to take a deep breath, and would learn to condense his material into a certain time frame. There are such clubs all over the WORLD, as it is an international organization.
