The problem the John Galts of the world have is that for every John Galt who is "de-incentivized" to work, earn $10 million, and pay $5 million in taxes, there are 10 Rick Mainz's ready to take his place who would KILL (metaphorically) to earn $10 million and pay $9 million in taxes — we would still net $1 million AND the nation would benefit.

I don't mind paying taxes. After all, who wants to be a rich man living in a poor country?

I am not John Galt. I AM Rick Mainz. Get out of my way Mr. Galt, you greedy lazy-assed bastard. 🙂

In the Golden Age of Prosperity, the 50's, the rich were still filthy rich but their tax rate was much higher. That's how we got highways.

That's right Richard. Hugh Hefner started his business back in the 50's, and he's been living the life of a millionare playboy, UNINTERRUPTED, for the last fifty years. People who don't have what it takes to be a millionare or billionare, are the ones who complain the loudest about govt. standing in their way from being prosperous, because, basically, they are dim-witted.__

I love how today's strip coincides beautifully with Darrin's other strip he illustrates, Rudy Park. The two really need to be read together for the best enjoyment.

Not every insanely rich person has an issue with paying taxes. Here’s a quote from Mark Cuban’s blog, The Most Patriotic Thing You Can Do (or I like to call “Enjoy the Shit Out of Your Money”), “So be Patriotic. Go out there and get rich. Get so obnoxiously rich that when that tax bill comes, your first thought will be to choke on how big a check you have to write. Your 2nd thought will be “what a great problem to have”, and your 3rd should be…” http://blogmaverick.com/2011/09/19/the-most-patri

3rd should be a recognition that in paying your taxes you are helping to support millions of Americans that are not as fortunate as you. Thank you, WWMD for this link. I signed up to get info on his blog. He is a great writer, and I wish all rich people AND Tea Party-ans could read this!

    Bravo, Darrin.
