    And yet people actually fall for this. So I guess if I was an asshole scammer, I wouldn't see the harm in trying.

    Mine was an offer to extend my vehicle guarantee. I just had to state what the VIN number was on the vehicle, give my credit card and bank info, and they would take care of the rest. I put it in my spam folder.

    I got an email like that not even a week after gettng a new Bank of America card. The email had their logo and everything but I went ahead and checked with the bank and there had been no activity. The bank has a fraud department where you can forward those emails to (which I did). I'm sure other banks do as well.
