And, there's also this article, with links to Sendak's last interview, in January, which, happily for us, was with Steven Colbert!
[I sent the 2 stories in separate links, b/c I believe a post with more than one link gets sent to "moderation," b/c it flags a post as potential spam.] http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/08/stephen-…
Here's a great story for Lionel< "Once upon a time, there used to be giant tape recorders that took up a whole wall, and big boxes called TV consoles which only showed 2 dimensional black and white moving pictures. In those days you had to stand up and walk to the TV set to turn the channels. " etc
Be still, my heart. I LOVE little Lionel! Great strip. In fact, if there was a whole book JUST about Lemont's fatherhood stories, I'd grab that in a SECOND!

Ahem– we do get, folks, that this is Darrin's tribute to the late, great Maurice Sendak, yes?
One of these days, babies who grow up will ask Mommy and Daddy, "What's a book?"

Along with the others, of course.
