  1. Jeff's Wrong says:

There is no "official language" in the United States, Jeff. And as far as I'M concerned, Jeff, you don't know what this country – the country that supposedly welcomes immigrants – is all about.

  2. Jeff's Wrong says:

  3. Jeff says:

If they learned to read the official language of the country they lived in then they would not have this problem, now would they. As far as I am concerned all info (as long as it does not risk life or property and I don't wantot hear how an election can risk both) should only be printed in English and if you can't read it then you don't need to know what it says.

    • ChayaFradle says:

BTW, English is not an American language at ALL. We speak American, which is a conglomerate of MANY languages. In fact, it is hard for me to understand people who come from England. It is hard for them to understand us!

    • bcmayes says:

Who is this "they" that you're referring to?

  4. ChayaFradle says:

I'm glad you all explained it to Jim. I would not have been as polite as any of you!!!!!!!! BTW, if telling the truth makes Darrin a sheep, then I would vote for Darrin for President and have the whole country be sheep. Better that than a wolf, with the country becoming wolves.

  5. Jim says:

Darrin, since the election is so close I have to ask you again; defend Obama's kill list. Defend his drone strikes, indefinite detention, troop surges, continuation of the war on drugs, and other policies you have said you disagree with, but are still going to vote for him. If you're going to give Obama a free pass on his crimes, when he's proven he's as bad as Bush & Romney, then you are not a progressive: you're a tool. A mindless sheep.

    • bcmayes says:

Recalling, amongst other things, the Obama-as-lizard "evolving" on the gay marriage issue, I find it hard to say Darrin's "[giving] Obama a free pass" for anything.

Yes, that list is problematic (for some), but some things are worse (to some), or more current, or more insidious, or (in the case of the GOP voter fraud wolf) more hypocritical.

To me at least, the hypocrisy of crying voter fraud while systematically attempting to defraud voters is far more egregious ethically than the President taking actions he believes are right that I just happen to disagree with. A completely different camp. Not comparable at all.

I'll tell you one more time, Jim: I disagree with the President on those matters. But I AGREE with him on a whole host of other issues – issues that are just as important to me as matters of war. So to me he is most definitely NOT "as bad as Bush & Romney." The only person who's going to agree with me on EVERY major issue is me, and I'm not running.

    • M.C. says:

So now that Obama did something I don't agree with, we must vote for Romney and his horrible regressive policies? Because of drones, we are no longer allowed to criticize Republicans on any issue, no matter how unrelated? Do you forget it was a Republican that started the war on drugs? Do you forget that it was a Republican that got us into two useless wars that killed thousands of people, civilians included, and the shrugged off the "collateral damage"? This cartoon has nothing to do with Obama and everything to do with the fact that Republicans will stop at nothing to lie, cheat, and steal their way into power. Period.

    • qpheevr says:

Jim, I don't see how calling out the Republicans on their attempts to suppress the Hispanic vote has anything to do with "giv[ing] Obama a free pass" on the conduct of the war in Afghanistan or anything else. Systematically trying to disenfranchise a group of citizens would be categorically wrong no matter how bad a president Obama was. And if you're trying to say that Darrin shouldn't try to address any one thing that's wrong in American politics without also dealing with everything else that's wrong in American politics, then you simply have no conception of what can be accomplished in the scope of a four-panel comic strip.
