The Not-Jealous Man

  1. Slipstick says:

The creeping of Black Friday into Thanksgiving Day and the whole consumerism attached to Christmas is much more definitive of the "War on Christmas" than saying "Happy Holidays" to random people who may or may not celebrate the same Christian holiday as you, let alone it also covers the other holidays that happen at roughly the same time. I.e. Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.

What was it that the one kid said in the classic "Miracle on 34th Street"? "There are a lot of -isms in this world, but if you ask me, commercialism is the worst." Keeping in mind that this was the 1950's when the Cold War was nearing its deepest divide.
