    I used to live in Pasquotank County off & on since 1980. Amazing how things changed without changing: separate sides of the track changed to salt & pepper neighborhoods, and then back again. White attitudes never really changed under the shadow of the confederate monument inscribed with "Our Heroes" {next to the county courthouse, of course}.
