So will C-Dogg have to research and write any papers? Or will Tong Tech give him credit for what he already knows?

As a longtime fan of Candorville, which, unfortunately, only runs in our Sunday paper, I’ve always been impressed with its currency, freshness, insight and pointed humor. I was especially impressed and surprised by the latest Sunday strip that began with the phone solicitor using the Tongan word “hingoa” correctly to mean “name” in greeting Dogg. (Although if the solicitor was actually named “Richie” himself, it would probably have been spelled something like “Latisi,” because Tongan has no r’s or c’s.) That the solicitor was promoting a scam was not totally unlikely, either, since the small island nation at one time tried to sell citizenships to investors in a minuscule islands that briefly appeared following an earthquake in its offshore waters some decades ago. If I remember correctly, citizenship provided the investor with tax-free status for his or her corporations. Generally, however, Tongans are generous and honest people. How did you happen to select Tonga as home-base for your “caller,” Mr. Bell?

Poor C Dog. He has SOOOO been scammed. If he falls for it, it would be a double scam.
