I don’t know if it’s one or the other. Often a Candorville cartoon is open ended and leaves the interpretation to the reader, as far as I can glean from my overviews of Darrin’s strips. That’s real life. “Candor” means objective truth, so Darrin can’t really be for one candidate or the other in his strips. He has to make fun of everyone equally. At least, that is what I am detecting. In my opinion, Barak will have more chance to make a point if he sticks to the issues, and doesn’t get into ageism or sexism in his remarks. I never heard him do the sexism, but if he is talking about age, that is ageism and I don’t like it because I, myself, am old. Also, McCain is a good person, so even though I don’t support him for President, I also don’t want to or look forward to, his old aging illnesses. I don’t want or wish anyone harm. It’s like people who argue about Kennedy’s hospital visit saying he deserved it. I think that’s not nice. There is a time and a place for everything. I do not believe Obama WANTED to get on the age issue. I think his ADVISERS are giving him WRONG direction on that, if he did, indeed, say those things. I hope he gets off that. So, DevBer, who do you want to be president?

I don’t follow politics much. Does this strip mean that Lemont is mad at Obama? Or that McCain is old so he won’t be as good of a president? Please explain.
