  1. Dave Aronson says:

At first I thought it was kinda hokey, but now that you get me thinking about it:

It could be explained as “force-pulling” the *ship* to *her*. They do that all the time with their light-sabers, and even among the presumably untrained, there was (SPOILER ALERT!) the kid at the end did with the broom. (If any readers saw the movie and didn’t catch that, IMHO it’s pretty important.)

If The Force obeys at least *some* of normal physics, then because the ship is so much heavier, it would hardly move at all. *She* would move to *it*, just like someone in pulling on a rope attached to the ship. That would *look* like flying. I’ll even ass-u-me she could “aim” it well enough to force-pull on a specific point (the airlock door), rather than the ship’s center.

But then, now that you’ve got me *really* thinking about it, there’s vacuum survival. Maybe she could “force-push” on herself to supply enough pressure, but how about oxygen? I forget how long it was, but it seemed a lot longer than one could reasonably hold breath, especially with so little preparation, and how she seemed to be unconscious out there for quite for a while. Maybe her Midichlorians (don’t get me started) can stand oxygen starvation for a while, and they sorta “took over”. (Dang, where’s that eyeroll emoji when you need it?)
