  • I was tickled to see Skull show up in a paper comic. Even though I'm guessing many newspaper readers aren't familiar with him, he looks exotic enough (and accurately drawn!) to be an intriguing representative. I also like how the strip alerts reader to the fact that there *are* online comics if they haven't already stumbled across them. I confess I was a little shocked to see Skull supposedly swearing with abandon. He's usually such a weird and gentle soul (if he has a soul). Farting, now, wouldn't surprise me, but non-readers wouldn't get the joke. I guess I'm guilty of thinking of him as a real person? And BTW, I do like the punch line with the implied heavy-handed censoring in print comics.

  • Speaking out of character adds an extra level of shock to a line. That's why some of the early Adult Swim shows on the Cartoon Network were so much fun. We got to see some of our favorite childhood cartoon characters corrupted. It's also why "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?" was one of the funniest moments on the Chappelle Show.

  • Bum bum bummmmm, Candorville's done that many times. It's all in the archives. Unfortunately they didn't listen to me, the legacy strips are still there.

  • What feud are you talking about?

Anyhow, I see what you're saying about Tycho, but that sort of misses the point. The first bailout series I drew back in December, and this one, purposely show characters speaking out of character. Sort of how actors and even comedians become ultra serious and articulate when testifying before Congress. That's why Skull's doing the talking instead of Tycho. This is Skull's "off-stage" persona in my imagination.

  • If I'm gonna nitpick, I have to say that Tycho should be saying the stuff instead of Skull. PVP is a lot more 'kid friendly' than penny-arcade. That said, this feud newspaper comic artists think they have with webcomic artists is a bit silly.

  • I dare Candorville to tell the legacy strips to take a hike for new talent :D
