I feel sorry for Roxanne here. She does love him, but she's a spoiled rich girl, so she has a funny way of showing her love. Of course, that's what I think anyway. I prefer him to be with Roxanne than Susan. Clyde should date Susan.

I don't believe Tim is so much trying to be sarcastic as trying to play off of the old phrase "Is that a banana in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?". In this case substituting the tape recorder.
