Obscure note: in 'Carpe Jugulum', Terry Pratchett's vampires-in-Discworld novel, a character asks another for a good way to dispatch a vampire. Put a stake through its heart and cut off its head, she is told. But, she protests, that works on EVERYbody. . . . .
I suspect that this story may be a little more important than it seems.
