  • I was born when my dad was 41. My younger son was born when I wa 40. When I listen to '80s music, it is (to him) like when my dad listened to '40s music.

But! at least he really likes "Doctor Who". That's like burn cream for my soul.

  • My first was Lost in Space. I do think it was in B&W although my dad brought home a plastic film separated in thirds horizontally, with blue on the top, pink in the middle and green on the bottom which he rubbed on the screen. That made it a color TV for me.

  • I had that same look of despair when I heard Human League's, "Don't You Want Me" on the Golden Oldies station last year and I had to acquiese to the fact that I am indeed getting older.

It doesn't help that Nirvana's Nevermind album is having it's 20th anniversary in September. And in related news, Happy Belated Birthday to Frances Bean (Kurt and Courtney's daughter). She turned 20 yesterday.

  • Maybe this'll help ... watched the original series on B&W TV, many (not all) when they were new ... had seen every one by early 1970 (10th grade, same year I learned FORTRAN)... original series was the best .... 30 years later, saw some re-runs in color, and realized that they were much more believable in B&W!! ... now ... I live w/o a TV ... w/ many computers ... they all have calculators ... must admit ... I watch "the Daily Show" online ...

  • Of course, it's only been twelve years since ST: Deep Space Nine ended.

Yeah, I know, I'm not helping.
