Capital B and the left paren is an emoticon. The easiest way to avoid them is to put a space on both sides of any parenthesis.
Is there a list of shortcuts for emoticons? I have a MAC. Do they work with both MACS and PCs? I'll try Cap B and left paren. See if it works. B(

Long before the Internet, my late mother was her own one-person FWW- Family Wide Web. G_d rest her soul, she could find way fewer than 6 degrees of separation faster than you can say Kevin Bacon. "Mawwwwm! You told WHOM WHAT?!?" A school confidence becomes counter evidence in the middle of a PTO meeting ["But that's not what my daughter says happened. She told the principal that X attacked the teacher, not Y." Hey, I have to go to school every day w/ X!] A vent about work goes straight to HER office's Great Leveler, its smoking lounge [so, yeah, it goes back a ways...] And one of her coworkers turns out to be the sister of one of my quasi-supervisors. Good one, Mom...
So yes, even now, my family is so large & spread out that discussions often begin w/ "Now this is not for 'Send All,'" or more recently, "this stays 'Off the (FB) wall,' OK?"
