  • And again I'm downvoted for speaking the truth. What's wrong people, don't want to accept that Obama's no better than his predecessor?

    • Nothing's wrong, Jim. Who's better totally depends on your values. If you're sufficiently right wing, W Bush appears better. If you're sufficiently left wing, Obama appears better. There is some point near the middle where they both appear the same. There are also the left & right far extremes, they can't tell the difference either. Obama appears much better to me. If you can't appreciate Obama, suit yourself and vote for Johnson.

  • Sometimes, doing the right thing (see http://whattheheckhasobamadonesofar.com), doing your job, is not going to win you any popularity contests.

Just ask President Lyndon Johnson after he signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Voting Rights Act in 1965 ---- President Johnson is purported to have said, "We [the Democratic Party] have lost the South for a generation."

Yes, our President needs to work on his campaign ads; the good news is, he's done a lot to be proud of despite fanatical resistance and obstruction from House and Senate Republicans. Targeting the 2012 campaign on his record and on Congressional Republicans' lack of one would prove more effective. I look forward to when that happens.

  • Can't agree, I'm afraid. Getting the health care bill through was a miracle of politics, and given our economy more important than ever. The economic disaster was going to happen regardless, thanks to the deliberate lack of oversight at the SEC.

      • Sorry about that. There's likely to be that confusion (at least for me) when it's a first-person "admission". I apologize for putting words in your mouth.
