  • I like when you do that. That is something that bugs me about spell check. How come it does not know I wanted to hear, not here?

    • Because it's more expedient for the programs to look at individual words and see if the spelling matches an actual word than for them to track the context of each word in sentences, which would slow the program considerably.

  • But 'wracking' and 'racking' sound the same phonetically. You wouldn't know whether someone had it right or wrong if you overheard them saying it. Obviously in a comic strip they're written, but they represent speech, so... my head hurts.

    • Actually, there is a slight difference in pronunciation, because there is a difference in the R sound when it's preceded by a W.

    • Yep! Hahaha. I can't wait until Lemont hears them talk with such words as "dessert" and "desert".

      • There is a discernible difference between the pronunciation of these two words as well; mostly to do with syllable emphasis, but it's definitely there.
