Melatonin... get him to take it then just have him settle down to watch something. Works with my godson.
It may work for many; however, for me, I nearly stopped breathing because it turns out I'm allergic to it. Be sure to get an OK from the parents or his doctor for any meds you give to a child, even over the counter ones. Same goes with herbal things. Never know when an allergy can pop up.
