I get a lot of Facebook invitations to real life events ... shows, parties, rallies, gatherings of all sorts ... & Facebook then provides pix of those real life events ... in my life, Facebook has increased the number of real conversations & "get togethers" that I go to ... it has also increased the flow of important information about the lives of people I know & care about, as well as about our society at large & the state of the planet ... communication & information can be a powerful force for good ...
The other day, I was at a relative's house where each person in the family was texting the other from different rooms and didn't converse at all. I think, one day, oral speaking will be the thing of the past, just as snail mail is beginning to become.
