The three Estates of the Realm are the clergy, the nobility, and the commoners. It's a standard way of conceptualizing the political situation of European countries until the Enlightenment. The three branches of US government are a completely separate concept.
The Fourth Estate? (Assuming the other three are -- repeat after me, kids -- Legislative, Executive, and Judicial, each with a job to do, and a check and balance on the others), well the Fourth Estate is now dead. It had been on life support for quite a while, but the MSM has pulled the plug a few years ago. Infotainment and Video 'News' Releases from Authorities (hard to distinguish from real reportage, with better production values) have replaced it. Good luck digging out your own truth from the dump that the 'Net has become.
