I used to live in Pasquotank County off & on since 1980. Amazing how things changed without changing: separate sides of the track changed to salt & pepper neighborhoods, and then back again. White attitudes never really changed under the shadow of the confederate monument inscribed with "Our Heroes" {next to the county courthouse, of course}.

Forgive my ignorance, what do "〄" mean?
I used to live in Pasquotank County off & on since 1980. Thinking back, it was amazing to watch the change without change happen there: 2 sides of the tracks evolving to salt-n-pepper neighborhoods, and then back again. White attitudes never really changed there under the shadow of the confederate statue with the inscription "Our Heroes" {next to the courthouse, of course}.
