I hesitate to admit, but I made the hilarious Horta connection immediately. I’ve always appreciated “The Devil in the Dark” episode, because the alien did not look like an arm waving hominoid in a cheap rubber suit. As Lemont, I fear that I too have caused my family some embarrassment due to the depth of my Star Trek knowledge and the ease with which I can give their friends the Vulcan salute. Funny stuff.
I wonder if people will assume you made up the Horta ...

Darren never makes up Star Trek references, it's just one of the ways Lemont mirrors Darren himself. And besides, the rest of us Star Trek nerds would give him heck if he did! ;)
