Um, Lemont, sometimes the message counts for more than the grammar!
Um, Lemont, listen to the meaning, not just the grammar.
except she didn't say "couldn't of", she said "should of". Lionel is the only one who used the word "couldn't"
It's the "of" that's incorrect. The correct term is "shouldn't have."
same for me with my native language...can't stop sometimes correcting people ;) But I love it :D
Thats me ...
Ah, I've missed the Evil Grammar Ladies. Thank you.
(Yes, I deliberately left it ambiguous whether "evil" is modifying "grammar" or "ladies").
You're so right about there irritating "should of" instead of "should've", but wrong about "couldn't help but overhear." Correct usage is "couldn't help overhearing," or "could not but overhear." Now will you please take on the extremely annoying "not that big OF a deal"?
THANK YOU!
You should have checked the second panel on this site. At least the other sites had it fixed.
