Lemont’s been listening to some classic Eric Clapton, apparently.
The fear that you’ll just fade away after a breakup is one of life’s many little deaths that foreshadows the final thing. That’s why it hurts the way it does; it’s downright existential.
You have no idea how poignant the FB strip is at the mmoment.
Ever listen to National Lampoon's "Deteriorata?" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ey6ugTmCYMk)
The universe is definitely laughing behind my back. Ok, who am I kidding?
It's laughing in my face.
I used to have a CD labeled "Pit Music."
I could program it to spiral around the drain as long as I wanted or I could program it to send me right through the floor.
One of the cool things about Wiki is you can look at the chronology of a groups' discography. REO Speedwagon, The Classics IV, & The Foundations are examples where if you follow them over time, you can see the relationship develop and crash. The early Maroon 5 stuff is a great example of "love gone wrong."
I wonder if having the same taste in music means we've got the same taste in women.
Sigh…
Elton John did a song about the existential aspect of things, "Sad Songs (Say So Much)."
"The kick inside is in the line that finally gets to you
and it feels so good to hurt so bad
And suffer just enough to sing the blues"
There is something to that. I was searching for songs that would inspire this week, and I came across a discussion forum. One guy asked for the saddest breakup songs around. He wrote "…not something that'll help me get over it, but something that'll help me *wallow* in it for a while. It's not often you feel something this deep. Sort of makes you feel more alive."
If only there was someone perfect for Lemont …
If only.
