Obama is nothing like Bush with one exception: he is a politician. And, like too many politicians (and not enough leaders) he is cautious and unwilling to take big chances.
Darrin, I think you're finally starting to see the light, that Obama is hardly any different than Bush.
Jim, I often point out that the position of POTUS is so influential on the course of world events, that the smallest difference is still an immense and important difference. Ignore this at great peril.
Q: Why did Obama run for President?
A: He didn't have enough clout to be Mayor of Chicago.

Funny conclusion panel. However, in defense of changing his mind about gay marriage, I would say Obama took a heavy chance when he went to N.Y. and said what he said. He's up for re-election, and gay people along with their hetero friends are not the majority of voters.
