I think Lemont is wrong. "To bear" also means to carry, and not necessarily to carry a burden. To 'bear with me' is to carry along with me–to be patient while we travel this road together. Lemont is not only a stickler, he's the worst kind of sticker–one who assumes that his interpretation is the right one, without doing his homework.
